There are a few reasons why a sale might not show up on Rewardful, even if someone used your affiliate link:

  • They might have deleted their cookies after clicking your link.
  • It's possible they used a different browser or device to complete the purchase.
  • If they purchased using the same device as you, it could be flagged as a self-referral.
  • A strong ad blocker that blocks cookies and tracking might have been in use during their purchase.

These factors can affect tracking and prevent the sale from being credited to your account.

Once you have your list of keywords, “extract the SERP“.

You can do that one by one.

… or by bulk-analyzing a set of keywords 👇

What does the SERP extraction do?

When you extract the SERP from a keyword:

  • The top 10 URLs will be fetched
  • The tool will check for any weak website and forum (or other UGC)
  • The tool will check if any of your websites are ranking in the top 100 search results
  • The competition tab will get filled in with competing websites and some info (monetization, age, …)
  • If enabled, PAA and Related queries will be added to your report

Looking for easy keywords?

Look for signs of weakness in the SERPs like:

  • Weak websites (ie low DA)
  • Forums (and other UGCs)
  • Intent mismatch (ie no webpage targeting directly the query)

We recommend you aim for keywords that have at least 2 weak spots.

Examples:

Finally, check out our Tips and Tricks here.

Head to the KWFinder and add your seed keyword.

Advanced Options

Toggle the Advanced button to see advanced options.

Include words: If you only want keywords that include at least one of the words you specify in this field.

Exclude words: If you want to exclude keywords containing specific words.

Max Authority: All websites below this threshold will be considered weak spots and will be marked with a green fruit icon.

By default, the threshold is set to a DA of 20, but you can define it as you prefer. You can also add your website to include websites weaker than yours in the weak spots category.

Extra parameters.

Country Search Volume: Enable it if you prefer to have search volume estimates specific to the country you're targeting. By leaving it unchecked, you'll get the global search volume.

Desktop SERP: Enable if you prefer to have the SERP data scrapped from Desktop hardware instead of a mobile device. Note that most of the traffic nowadays comes from mobile devices.

Extract PAA queries: Enable if you want to have People Also Ask queries extracted during keyword analysis. Check out or tutorial video on How To Get Keyword Ideas For Google's People Also Ask.

Extract Related queries: Same but for Related queries.

Old analyzed keywords: You may have some keyword overlap between reports. To save credits, you can enable this option.

It will retrieve keyword data analyzed up to 3 months ago.

Customize weak spots: You may want to customize weak spots, even if their DA is above the defined threshold. Purple fruit icons will represent these customized weak spots in your reports.

Next, proceed to Step 3 – SERP analysis.

On this page, you'll find actions you can take today to save credits, optimize your keyword research, and boost your SEO 🚀

The tips and tricks will help you find your initial set of keywords to get you started with your content strategy.

1. For a faster workflow, define your default settings

Head to your settings and define your default settings (country, language, …).

Also, include your website(s) here so that you can obtain ranking information during keyword analysis in any new report.

2. Focus on subtopics, not broad topics

When using the KWFinder, use subtopics as seed keywords.
Subtopics are less competitive and will help you build topical authority (see point 9).

But, don't go too narrow (avoid seed keywords with more than 4 words).

3. Filter Down your list of keyword ideas

Before any analysis, start by reducing the number of keywords to save credits. Keep in mind what topics you want to focus on.

  1. Hide unwanted topics Check the different topics. Do they make sense for your website? If not, hide them by clicking on the eye icon.
  1. Exclude unwanted words
Click on the Pre-defined > Exclude filter and add any unwanted words.
All keywords containing unwanted words will be excluded from your report.

Want to exclude common lists of words or places?
    > Use pre-defined filters, or add custom filters, on this page.

A few ideas on what to include in the Exclude field:
    – You might want to add Reddit and Quora, as they're related to the navigational type of keywords.
    – You might add the pre-defined filter [country] if you don't want keywords that include a country.
    – You might want to add transactional words like “buy” if you don't have an e-commerce website.
  1. Hide specific keywords When going through your list of keywords, you see some you don't want? 👉 Hide them.

4. Focus on business-relevant keywords

Before diving into the keyword analysis part, focus on keywords that are relevant to your business. On which type of keywords are you focusing?

Bottom of the funnel?
Looking for people ready to take an action ? Use the “Intent” filter “Pre-purchase” (commercial + transactional keywords).

This will filter keywords based on the words it contains like : buy, best, review, …

Pre-purchase intent

Top of the funnel? Looking at educating around a topic? Check informational types of keywords.

Informational keywords

Informational type of keywords are usually less competitive than commercial and transactional ones.

They are also great because you know precisely what the user is looking for.
They help you get inside the minds of your visitors.

Go to the questions tab to find such keywords.

Question tab = informational keywords

5. Embrace the longtail!

Analyzing high-volume generic keywords in a competitive space can be challenging when trying to identify weak keywords. That's why it's better, in such a case, to focus on long-tail keywords.

To find longtail keywords, set a max value on the search volume, for example 300.

Apply a max value to the search volume filter

6. Bulk-select keywords for analysis

We recommend bulk-selecting and analyzing an initial set of keywords instead of randomly picking one or two keywords. This will give you a better sense of the competition in the niche.

7. Search for multiple signs of weakness

Focus first on keywords that have multiple signs of weakness, not just 1 low fruit icon. They're easier and faster to rank on.

8. Avoid cannibalization

Some keywords share the same intent (ie. people might use different search terms or keywords to look for the same information).

Go to the Clusters tab and click on SERP clustering.

Keywords with a similar intent will be grouped together.

Write one article per cluster.

Learn more about clusters here.

Also this article about the difference between keyword and topic clusters.

“best mussels in brussels” is a keyword cluster that includes 7 keywords

9. Topical coverage

To enhance your ranking potential, produce content on related topics – aim for at least 20-30 related articles initially.

This approach will assist Google in recognizing your expertise and specialization in these areas.

This will also help your users who are interested in related topics and increase time on site (thus improving on-site signals).

Learn here how to build your topical authority.

10. Competitive niche?

You're in a competitive niche and have difficulties in finding low competition keywords?

Read this blog article with examples of how to find easy keywords in competitive niches like air fryer, pet, and travel.

11. Reverse-engineer your weakest competitors

Once you have your list of easy keywords, click on the green fruits to see what the weak competing websites are doing to reach the top of Google.

  1. Content-depth? How much time and effort have they invested in their content to bring value to the reader? Use the word count to give a sense of the investment.
  2. Content-type? Are the article ranking : listicles, buying guides, … ? Align your content format accordingly.
  3. Related Topics? How many articles do they have around that topic? Check the internal links and related articles. Give more power to your website by adding related content.
  4. Online presence? What's their strategy outside of their website? Do they have an active presence on social media, on a podcast, offline, … ? Analyze the EEAT elements to understand with whom you're competing.
